DIRECTIONS: I-95 to Griffin Road exit (Exit 26). Go east
on Griffin and make a right at the first light into the Sheraton parking area.
PARKING: Self-parking is free of charge. Take a ticket when
you enter and when you leave be sure to tell the parking attendant you were
attending the FRW event.

I MANAGED TO GET THERE, ANYWAY.
Karen Hawkins will take you from the first day she decided to be a
writer, all the way to the day she finally saw her book on the shelf. A frank
and honest look at how new authors can mess up their own careers, Karen will
list all of the things she completely screwed up and how she fixed them.
Guaranteed fun for the audience (because really, who doesn't like to
laugh at other people's mistakes), Karen will dish honestly about contests, work
ethics, agents, contracts, and her epic failure in dealing with any of these in
the right way.
Bio: Karen Hawkins is a NYTimes and USAToday best-selling author of over
twenty well-loved regency set historicals and two hysterical contemporary
romances. A RITA finalist, Maggie Award winner, and multiple recipient of RWA's
Best Book Award, Karen writes full time, which means she spends most days glued
to her computer slooooowly paging through her Hugh Jackman Picture File and
doing copious amounts of sudoku. Karen's next book, an Elizabethan set prequel
for her beloved St. Johns Series, comes out August 31st from Pocket Books.
